Andrew and Gracie Bailey-Postma
Some kind words from Andrew and his daughter Gracie!
My family and I are traveling through different part of Asia and Australia/New Zealand for 6 months and my daughter and I are using this opportunity to train in other Martial Arts. Back home in Ottawa, Canada, my 14 year old daughter has been studying Shotokan and Sport Karate for the past 10 years and my main practice has been Karate and Tai Chi, but I have dabbled in Bagua, Kung Fu, Wing Chun, Taekwondo, and a few other various other Martial Arts off and on for the past 30 years. While traveling we have been looking to train and experience other Martial Arts to help expand and improve our understanding of our own Martial Arts practice.
While in Hong Kong we happened upon Mindful Wing Chun and we were so glad we did. Tom and Chris immediately made us feel welcome when we came in to check out the club and their passion for Wing Chun and sharing their art was very evident. This passion is shared by all of the instructors and my daughter loved the camaraderie in the club and the positive vibe given off by the instructors, as did I. We ended up training at the club 2-3 times a week for around a month. I also enjoyed the club's focus on the internal aspect of the Art, which reminded me of, as well as demonstrating, the power that can be generated effortlessly if you understand how to transfer the internal power to the external. Of course, it's going to take a lot of continued effort and training on my part to learn how to be so effortless :)
Thanks again to everyone at Mindful Wing Chun for making us feel so welcome for the month we were able to train in Hong Kong and I highly recommend the experience.
